Hi,

My contractor said Azek fades too much and said not to install it. What other ones in the above list would you recommend? I am leaning towards Corerct Deck CX(Mahogany), but it is still a composite, is there another PVC you would recommend? I live in VA, and the weather has hit 100 in summer and single digits in the winter. The Deck will be exposed to sunlight during day and shade during the evening.

Thank you.

Looking for a little help creating / finding an Excel spreadsheet that entails obviously all the breakdown of material (and possibly labor) estimates. I started my own, but I'm not the excel wiz, and it seems with every deck something is missing from mine. If someone has one that would be great, or direct me and I'll go there.

Thanks for any help.

I'm about to have my first deck built and I'm inclined to go with Azek or TT XLM decking and cedar railing with black Dekorator balusters. The house itself is red brick.

I hope to preserve the cedar's reddish hue by applying a semi-transparent stain every couple years or so.

The decking colors I like best for this project are:
Azek Morado
Azek Sedona
TT XLM Desert Bronze
TT XLM Sandridge
TT XLM Rustic Bark

Anybody ever seen any of these colors paired with cedar railing? Any recommendations? I'm not trying to match the railing, but I want something complementary.

Which way would you go?

Looking for a bulkier look. Cedar beams of 6x12 spanning 20'. Rafters of 4x10 spanning 20' spaced 24'oc. 2x2 purlins.

Was exploring the possibility of doubling up 2x KDAT to give appearance of thicker as unable to find any 4x lumber as way to save some money. Beam of (4)2x12, rafters (2)2x10.

Pergola will be 12' off ground. Will be staining.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
